How Do You Prayer to God?
God has offered to answer the prayers of His children. He asks us to take any concerns, issues or heartache to Him in prayer, and He will act upon it according to His will. As we deal with difficulties, we are to cast our cares on Him and receive from Him a peace that defies the circumstances. The basis for our hope and faith is the character of God himself. The better we know Him, the more apt we are to trust Him.
Even in times of gratitude, happiness and delight, our Heavenly Father wants to hear the prayers you speak. When He is needed in trouble, He is needed in time of thankfulness too. Establishing a heartfelt relationship with God is what He seeks from us. Talking to Him when we feel led to offers peace to us as well. Praying is not an art form, it is a substantial part of having a close relationship with the one who loves us most.
There is no right way or wrong way to pray. The foundation of praying to God is to simply pray when your heart bides you. Whether you are sitting at your office desk, driving through traffic after a long day, worshipping Him during church service, from the hospital room of a loved one, or upon waking first thing in the morning. Talk to Him, and talk to Him often. He is always there when you seek His ear. He hears when you speak, and many times, you will hear Him speak back. This is often through the feeling of comfort, peace and the love that fills your heart. You simply know He is there. He is present. He is with you at all times, and in all circumstances.
For those who of us who know Jesus, and have welcomed Him into our hearts, there may be instances that He is incredibly generous in His offerings back to you for things you’ve prayed about. Where we sometimes misinterpret this, is in assuming we know God's will, because a certain thing makes sense to us. We assume that there is only one right "answer" to a specific prayer, assuming certainty that it is God's will. We live within the limits of time and limits of knowledge. We have only limited information about a situation and the implications of future actions on all of life’s situations. God's understanding is unlimited. His understanding of our needs is without boundaries. How an event plays out in the course of life or history is only something He knows, not us. God is in control at all times and in all things. He may have purposes far beyond what we could even imagine. Have faith, pray always, and allow the Lord to guide you. He is listening.
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” 1 John 5:14
“Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” Jeremiah 29:12
