Prayers for the Sick
Touch, heal, restore, amend, redeem, awaken, hold, breathe, sing, and speak! We invite you to come and be Lord in this situation. We open our hearts, our minds, and our hands and welcome your restoring power. May this sickness end and may your healing begin.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Prayer for a sick relative:
Hold my lovely (mom/dad/etc.) at this time of illness, watch over her when she cannot sleep, speak your love to her when she is afraid, touch and heal her weak body.
Lord, you are the fountain of life. I ask for your life giving water to pour down upon her. Build her up again, look after her emotions and may she know your loving arms are around her at this time. Thank you for your love, and for your promises to your children. Thank you that you will never leave us, and that you bring us a peace that surpasses all understanding.
Episcopal prayer for a sick child:
Lord Jesus Christ,
Good Shepherd of the sheep,
You gather the lambs in your arms and carry them in your bosom:
We commend to your loving care this child N. Relieve his pain,
guard him from all danger,
restore to him your gifts of gladness and strength,
and raise him up to a life of service to you.
Hear us, we pray,
for your dear Name’s sake.
My Lighthouse of Hope
Most gracious and loving Father, I want to thank you for all the blessings you’ve given me, my family and friends and all those I hold dear.
Thank you Lord for giving me another day to see the beauty of your creations. You know the state of crisis that I am in now Lord. I want to be of use again to you, Lord. In the time of my hospitalization, you Lord remain as my rock and my anchor.
You stand as my lighthouse giving me hope. I pray Lord that you will heal me soon.
In Jesus’ name,
A Prayer for Healing Cancer
I come before you with a solemn heart and in need of your intercession. I pray that the cancer that has come into my life soon fade into a quick remission.
I believe in your capacity for miracles, and ask for this on my behalf. As we grow older, I know we become closer to the day you accept us back into your kingdom. I ask that you delay that holy union if it be your will. In your name I pray,
