St Anthony of Padua was born Fernando Martins de Bulhoes was born on August 15, 1195. He was born into a noble and wealthy family and would ultimately show a strong interest in the church at a young age. During his life, St. Anthony of Padua lived a life of humility and was the first to help any person that was in need. He would develop a deep understanding and knowledge of the scripture which is something that made his evangelization all the more powerful.
We will print and place your prayer request on the Stone of Anointing; the place where Christ’ body was laid down after being removed from the crucifix and prepared for burial.
Shortly after St. Anthony’s death in 1231, there were strong cries from the Catholic community to canonize him. This ultimately happened less than a year after his death which is something that is typically unheard of. Today, there are countless Catholics all over the world who look to St. Anthony as a source of strength in difficult times. This is just one of the numerous reasons why so many people offer a prayer for a miracle to St. Anthony in hopes that their prayers for the sick or prayers for a miracle will be heard by God.
Prayer Request to St. Anthony for a Miracle
St. Anthony is an example of a saint that many people often turn to when they are in need. There are several prayers that you can make your own personal prayer request to St. Anthony such as:
- St. Anthony, lover of the least and lowly, you reached out to the sick with a generous and compassionate heart. Please be with me at this time of ill health, and accompany me as I face this sickness and all the uncertainties of infirmity. Help me experience God’s healing power through your prayers, as well as my own.
If I suffer, lead me to unite myself to the Cross of Jesus Christ, so that this suffering can bring spiritual benefit to me and to others. May my bearing the cross of illness here on earth prepare me for new life in the eternal joys of perfect happiness and fullness of life with God forever in Heaven. Amen.
- St. Anthony, model of great holiness, help me to live as a worthy son/daughter of God, faithful to the promises of my Baptism. You know how serious are the dangers and difficulties of my life. Grant that I may overcome all temptations to evil and have the courage to witness to my faith.
Obtain for me, from Our Divine Savior, a heart that is capable of loving God above all things and open my soul to a generous and sincere love of my neighbor.
Help me to be willing to assist and serve anyone who is in need. Encourage me by your holy example, so that I may be most open and receptive to God’s perfect and all powerful love. Amen.
- St. Anthony, God chose you for a mission of mercy to those who had fallen away from our Catholic faith. I entrust to you my concerns for (here name) who does not presently worship at Mass or receive the Sacraments regularly.
Speak to their heart, and lead them to want to know God better, to praise God often in the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, and to offer their time and talents in the dedicated service of a welcoming, holy, faith-filled Catholic parish community. Grant them the joy, the privilege, and the power of a committed personal relationship with Our Lord, Jesus Christ, and His Body, the Church. Guide me with patience and wisdom to be a worthy example of faith to all. Amen.
