About Holy Land Prayer

Holy Land Prayer is a prayer service in Jerusalem. You send us a prayer. We print it, carry it into the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and place it inside one of the chapels. A priest prays it, we light a candle on your behalf, and we email you photographs of both.

What a prayer request includes

  1. A priest prays your prayer at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This is done in English.
  2. We print your prayer request and place it inside one of the chapels in the church.
  3. We light a candle on your behalf.
  4. You receive photographs of your prayer inside the church, by email.
  5. You receive photographs of your candle inside the church, by email.
  6. A portion of every order is donated to the church.

What you are paying for

What you pay is a service fee, not a donation. It covers printing your prayer, carrying it into the church, placing it inside one of the chapels, lighting your candle, and photographing both so that you can see it was done.

Why we do this

We are close to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and can walk there whenever we wish. Most people cannot. Some are kept away by the cost of the journey, and many more by illness, age or circumstances that make travel impossible.

People have prayed in this church for centuries. Our work is to carry someone else's words there when they cannot carry them themselves, and to send back proof that it was done.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre stands over the place where Jesus Christ was crucified, buried and raised. It has stood in the Old City of Jerusalem for centuries, through earthquakes and through wars, and it remains open to the faithful who come to pray there.
