How to Send a Prayer Request to Jerusalem

To send a prayer request to Jerusalem, write your prayer in the form at the top of this page and complete the payment. Holy Land Prayer is a Christian prayer service based in Jerusalem. We print it, carry it into the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and place it inside one of the chapels. A priest prays it there in English, we light a candle on your behalf, and we email you photographs of both so you can see it was done.

  1. Write your prayer request in your own words. A sentence or two is enough.
  2. Add your name and email address, and choose any optional extras.
  3. Pay the $34.90 service fee by card, PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay. You receive an email receipt straight away.
  4. We print your prayer and place it inside one of the chapels of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where a priest prays it in English, and we light a candle for you.
  5. You receive photographs of your prayer and your candle inside the church by email.

We are not the church, and we are not a ministry. We are a small service that walks to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre so that people who cannot get there themselves can still have their prayer carried inside. Most of the people we do this for are kept away by cost, by illness, by age, or by circumstances that make the journey impossible.

What you are paying for

What you pay is a service fee, not a donation. It covers printing your prayer, carrying it into the church, placing it, lighting your candle and photographing both so that you can see it was done. A portion of every order is donated to the church.

We do not sell outcomes. Paying for this service does not oblige God to answer, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something we are not.

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre stands in the Old City of Jerusalem, over the place where Christians hold that Jesus Christ was crucified, buried and raised. It has stood there for centuries, through earthquakes and through wars, and it remains open to the faithful who come to pray.

The church was first built by the Emperor Constantine and dedicated in 335. Today it is shared by several ancient Christian communities, chiefly the Greek Orthodox, the Roman Catholic Franciscans and the Armenian Apostolic Church, with the Coptic, Ethiopian and Syriac Orthodox also present, under an arrangement known as the Status Quo that governs who may pray where and when. Inside are Calvary, the Stone of Anointing and the Tomb of Christ, and beneath them the Chapel of St. Helena.

How can I send a prayer to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem?
Write it in the form at the top of this page. You do not need to travel, and you do not need to know anyone in Jerusalem. We print your prayer, carry it into the church in the Old City and place it inside one of the chapels, where a priest prays it in English.

Can Catholics submit prayer intentions through this service?
Yes. Your intention will be prayed by a priest at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. It is not a Mass intention; for that, speak to your own parish.
Can I ask for a miracle in my prayer request?
Yes. Many people write to us about a diagnosis, a child, a marriage or money they cannot find. Write exactly what you are asking God for. We carry every request with the same care, and we do not promise any particular outcome; that belongs to God.
Is Holy Land Prayer a Christian service?
Yes. Your prayer request goes to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the church Christians hold was built over the place where Jesus was crucified, buried and raised. Christians of every tradition are welcome to send a prayer request.
How do I know my prayer was really placed?
Because we photograph it. You receive pictures of your own printed prayer inside the church and of your own candle, not stock images and not someone else’s. If anything is unclear when your photographs arrive, write to us and we will explain exactly what you are looking at.
Are you part of the church?
No. Holy Land Prayer is an independent service based in Jerusalem. We are not the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, we do not speak for it, and we are not a ministry or a parish. A portion of every order is donated to the church.
