Recently I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I've had surgery and doctors believe they got 90%. We are treating the last 10% with radiation and chemo. As part of this medical journey, I've realized I am not as close with my church as I used to be. I have a strong faith but have forgotten the importance of Mass, Prayer and receiving the sacraments. My goal in general is to return to the grace and mercy of my Jesus and the Catholic Church. I believe your missions can help me and others who have lost their way. I trust in God and know he will heal me if it is his will. But I need to work harder on reflecting and praying with my family and including the Lord our Savior in our lives. I have 4 children, ages 23 – 10, and I need to work harder on setting a Christian example for them. The older 3 are in college but did attend Catholic School their whole life. Our youngest son aged 10 is also attending a Catholic School. I have let myself become lazy and I have been relying on the Schools to provide their Catholic and Christian education. That is another goal I have. I want to teach my children about our faith too. I went for a walk with my youngest son this weekend and we talked about Padre Pio and his stigmata. My son thought it was COOL and a blessing. I agree and have decided one thing I can do during my medical journey is to teach my youngest son about the Saints. For example, this week we talked about St. Patrick. I have a great love for St Terese the Little Flower. I love gardening and decided to plant some rose bushes in honor of St. Terese..creating a garden bed in her honor. I think this will be a great way for me to help my daughters learn more about St. Terese and her good works. IF you have any other suggestions for me, I would greatly appreciate them. Thank you for your app, your outreach and the way you are spreading the good news.
